About Derek Russell
Never going to art school, Russell is primarily self-taught. He never liked being told what to do, so he set out on his own journey and obtained a degree in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire to further his creative development and ability to think. Struggling to be perfect, it wasn’t until Russell traveled to Kauai that he would begin to appreciate a more laid back way of life. The island shared with him an invaluable lesson, life is beautiful no matter what. When he got home from this trip, he was inspired to live a more carefree and adventurous life. He felt he no longer needed to take life so seriously. After graduating top of his engineering class, Russell began working as an engineer for a Fortune 500...
